Since we don't have a specific board for music, we'll just stick this thread in here and hope someone finds it... Anyway, what kind of music does everyone like? Bubblegum, alternative, rap? What did you grow up with? Classical, rock'n'roll, glam? What artist(s) have influenced your life? What kind do you absolutely hate? Country (I hope...)...
Me, I'm hooked on R.E.M. (Going to see them Oct. 5th! w00t!), Live, Pearl Jam, The Clash, The Bouncing Souls, all that fun stuff. Alternative, 90's rock, glam *blush*, 60's rock/pop, little bit of classic rock, punk... Nirvana, Butthole Surfers, David Bowie (of course!), Warren Zevon, The Who, Tom Petty... I'm gonna get flamed for this, but I hate today's music. Most of it seems to be really uninspired and it's all starting to sound exactly the same. Not that that's all there is, but you'd have to dig for the good, like in the 70's disco and 80's new wave eras. But seriously, what is everybody into?

i'm probably gonna be the only person to reply to this post but thats ok. zack basically you like every kind of music. im like that too tho. i listen to basically every type of music except country. i dont kno why but i really dont like country music. but even country i like some songs. i like some pop. i hate the vapid bubblegum stuff that was totally manufactured to make money but i like most of the stuff. its just fun. i was really into the sarah mclachlan alanis moresette tori amos solo woman sound. i dont like rap but i dont mind r&b. i even like some broadway and classical. emphasis on the some. (my dad is a broadway junkie what can i say? nostalgia) my friends got me into techno. sad i know but ive got friends who rave and breakdance and its pretty cool. but i really like rock and punk. i dont really know much about the old hard rock but i love listening to it. i cant name very many songs but i still love the sound. i listen to all kinds of punk and im ashamed to admit even happy pop punk new found glory, simple plan, that stuff.i really like jimmy eat world. i love weezer. i LOVE no doubt. and garbage. but i love alternative rock. just rock in general. i mean who doesnt love pearl jam. the clash. Nirvana. stuff thatll live forever. but for me i love chilli peppers. hoobastank. incubis. staind sad depressing music. o ya i forgot! i also like bands like goo goo dolls and matchbox twenty. laugh if you want. i love the foo fighters. afi has such good stuff. and you gotta love coldplay and radiohead. my two favorite bands though are easy. linkin park. thats like techno rock depressing music all in one. i even like their rap b/c its not disgusting womanizing "im so rich im a player" rap. but number band ever? Evanescence. amy lees voice is soo chilling. it echos in your mind and the lyrics are so deep. its like the opposite of happy "go me!" brittney spears music. i dont just mean bring to life. you really have to dig to find all of their stuff. i think its true of all the really good stuff. most of the best songs of the 60's 70's 80's and 90's were total unknowns. ok didnt mean to write a book but i did mention that i like all kinds of music. but Evanescence is the best stuff ever.

Holas!
Ha, see hun you are not the only one!
I'm one of those queer people who will always like the Poppy dancey, stuff....mostly because it's good to dance and choreograph too. But I don't really LIKE the music..it's too whiny.
I'm into COLDPLAY, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Travis (yes more BRritish rock!) Goo Goo Dolls, TECHNO (see my love fo pop for explantion). CYNDI LAUPER, TORI AMOS, ALANIS MORISETTE ARE THE QUEENS OF MYMUSIC WORLD. MUAH-HA-HA!
But yes, I'll listen to everything...country isn't a sbad as it seems people! This isof course because I grew up on it but some stuff is SO cute...lols all that Honky-Tonk Rodeo stuff has got ot go though hehe.

*phew* It's good to know I'm not the only one. Yeah, I like a lot of those bands, I just didn't mention them because I didn't want to drone on too long. Chili Peppers, Weezer, Patti Smith, Wilco, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Cake, Alice Cooper, Radiohead, Miles Davis, The Beatles... Music's my life.
