The upcoming movie will be in theaters next summer. Can you wait? Who will play those extra characters? Do you think the new director will be up to scratch? Just some quesitons to think about...

We all know that Chris Columbus (discovered America in 1492... no... America was all ready there...) left some parts out of the books to fit in a reasonable (*coughcough*) time frame (Filch is a squib for example). What parts do you think Cuaron will leave out of POA? What parts would you love to see put in, but don't expect to? Personally, I'm really hoping the boggart scene is left in. I've also got good reason to suspect it will be in the movie for a few reasons, 1) it proves Neville isn't really an idiot and 2) it shows Lupin in a good light, it presents his character to the audience. I also suspect it may be left out because it's not a really as big and important as say... when you meet Black in the Shrieking Shack for the first time. It could also be that certain actors may be poor sports about it ( ). My only reason for wanting to see it really is just to see Alan Rickman in a dress. That's all. Alan Rickman in a green dress, fox fur and hat with a vulture on top. I also wouldn't mind seeing some sort of blooper with him in that particular costume, *shrug* but that's probably asking for too much. I'll really settle for just the scene itself, I'm pretty agreeable. Anybody else?

I heard they were leaving out most of the quidditch scenes because Sean Biggerstaff who plays Oliver Wood wont be in the rest of the films. Which I think is stupid because he only has one more film to do. And why would you want to drop out? It seems like sooo much fun!!!!!

o dear. don't tell ellie that sean's not coming back. she might cry. lol. and i'm sure that he didn't want to drop out. he's getting too old. he's 20 something. 23 i think. ask ellie, she would know. anyway, he just seems too old to be 17. it'll be the same with dan, emma, and rupert, although they wont be quite so easy to cut out. ya, well, i hope they do have a quiddatch scene, plus they have to put the scene with draco dressed up as a dementor, b/c it was harry's first showing of his patronus. and of course because it was such a great scene.

*Takes this wonderful opportunity to make a dramatic entrance from long leave of absence*
"Oliver! No, not my beloved Oliver Wood! Whatever shall I do?!"
*faints*
Yes, I know he isn't going to be in the 3rd Movie. Sniff tear. But there is legitimacy behind it. There should be NO excuse for it but I can sort of see why. Have you noticed that Rowling's books keep getting longer and longer? Well, the shortest book was composed a sa 3 hour movie. The second was a bit longer, both bok and movie. If the pattern continues,a s we all know very well that is does, than sooner o rlater things will have to be cut out. There siumply wasn't any way for them to include all the important scenes as well as all the Quidditch scenes, so yes, as Jenni said, they will most likely stick to the main scenes.
I beg for mercy frommy Professors and fellow classmates for my lack of participation. School has started, and well ya. I live 2 lives now. Its hard enough for that, and then add, this..well ya you see waht I mea. I shall post more frequently now, though!

Well... in an attempt to keep this board somewhat on track... I ask what everyone thought of POA? It came out... recently... and (thought I haven't seen it yet), I figure some has to have by now. Maybe our fearless leader can give us the low down on this summer blockbuster. High points? Low points? Draco crying? Snape most DEFINITELY in a dress. ;D Let's resurrect and dead thread.

(This may or may not be better than last night, but I'm going to attempt a better review anyway.)
As previously stated, I didn't much like this film. Cuaron's stylings were a lot to get used to in a short amount of time. Shorter, even, than the first movie which was a lot less involved than this book was. I didn't much like his handling of time in the movie, and the magically adjustable timeturner strap (magically adjustable irons from POTC anyone?). He left too much out for my piece of mind. A friend of mine hadn't read the book (gasp!) and was totally confused and I'm fairly sure I would have been as well if I hadn't read it.
The casting of Sirius and Lupin were subpar and they should really think about getting rid of the 'Brits only' rule. Lupin was scary with his mustache and I just don't like Thewlis on principle. WHY WAS THE WEREWOLF BALD!? Sirius... wasn't he supposed to be CUTE!? GOOD-LOOKING!? Cast the guy from Big Fish as Lupin and Johnny Depp as Sirius. They'll captivate AND be better actors than Thewlis and Oldman. *twitch*
I wasn't thrilled with this movie installment, despite this being my favorite story. Kinda yucky. Kinda bland. Best actors? The tree, Alan Rickman and whoever played Trelawny. She did a fine job.

Em...*coughs and clears throat* I am proud to say that I loved this film! Most of my fellow HP fans (as in school mates) hated it...but I loved it! I loved the casting, the scenes, the dialouge, EVERYTHING! My favorite scene would have to have been the fight scene between Remus and Sirius when Remus was a fully transformed werewolf, and Sirius was in his animagus form. I thought it was brilliant...

Waah...I'm watching POA right now, on DVD, on my PC screen. All I can say is waah...so sad when Sirius is talking with Harry one on one. Gosh...Sirius is swell. The swellest wizard ever by me...gosh.
So, who else bought the DVD on the 23rd?
