He's such a genius. At any rate, he's got a new book out called 'Fluke'. It's got a whale on the cover so I'm assuming it's gotta have whales in it. If anybody's heard of him and is willing to sing his praises as I do, read this book! Author of such greats as 'Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal' and 'Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove', Chris has got to be at the top of his game. Yeah! The summary from Chris's official site:
"Everybody knows that humpback whales sing . . . but no one knows why. So every winter, Nathan Quinn and his partner in the Maui Whale Research Foundation ply the warm waters off Hawaii in search of an answer to this burning question. Lately, though, Nate's beginning to wonder if he's spent just a little too much time in the sun. Either that, or he's losing his mind. For just as he snapped a photo of a humpback tail fluke, he could've sworn he saw the words "Bite Me" scrawled across the whale's tail . . .
So begins a rollicking adventure involving an age-old conspiracy, top-level military secrets, a highly evolved super race with a penchant for baked goods, the source of all life on the planet, a very bizarre long-distance love affair, and a megalomaniac undersea ruler thrown in for good measure. Told in the signature Moore style -- surprising, smart, informative, and deeply funny -- FLUKE is Christopher Moore at his outrageously original best."
Go buy it!!!

That's not fun... I've read the first chapter though... the cryptic words have appeared on the tail of a hupmback whale. 'Bite me.'

Chris has got a new one out! And lemme tell ya... it's so fricken awesome so far...
The Stupidest Angel is, quote, "A heartwarming tale of Christmas terror." I'm not done yet, so I can't verify it, but it's well on its way. In this story, Chris brings back all kinds of characters from previous books including Raziel from Lamb, Theo, Molly, Gabe, Valerie, Skinner and Catfish from Lust Lizard, Bob, Jenny and Mavis from Demonkeeping and Lust Lizard, and Tucker and Roberto from Island of the Sequined Love Nun. It brings all these crazy characters back for more in this tale where Raziel's out to give a little boy his Christmas wish. His wish? To bring Santa back to life after the little boy witness Santa being killed with a shovel. Whoops.
Theo's doing drugs again, Molly's going psycho, Val divorced Gabe and Raziel still loves his soaps, among other things that haven't changed, and there are so many random similarities I can pick out and I'm not even half done with this book.
The shovel? SHOOTER. The fruit bat? HUNTER. "Yeah, you really screwed the pooch on that one."? SANDS. Constable (Insert bird-like last name here)? ICHY CRANE. I know there are more, but Lordy... it's too funny. I lime it. Hell, I lemon it. That's right! I'll get a better description once I'm finished but DO buy The Stupidest Angel in a Borders near you.
