(I know what happened next! And I'll post it here for my own edification and memory.
The teachers find out that 'Zack' killed him, realize it was him, but a voice and have the excised from Zack. That's how nobody showed up past Hogwarts. They think it wise not to tell her that he died, that he really did go to Durmstrang (they might have done some kind of interrogation with Sands to find that it was a bad ending for Viv). He gets fixed, he takes his oddity to be pranking and that's how he spends the rest of his days.)
