Zack clamped his jaw shut on what he had been about to say next. Where had the just come from?
Where indeed. Amigo, you'd better watch yourself.
"Well... uh, well... I uh..."
Zack couldn't seem to stop stuttering. A flush crept its way up his neck and onto his cheeks and he didn't think it was possible to be more embarassed.

*She felt herself blushing from head to toe and wasn't faring much better on the speaking part either. Why had she done that? Was she insane? Suicidal maybe?*
"I-er...that is to say...."

If she'd been looking for help from his end, she was going to be disappointed. He was still dumbstruck, but was fighting valiantly to recover. The blush was still bright on his face but he could feel the burn subsiding.
"Yeah."

*She giggled airly.*
"Well, then..."

"Uh... I don't suppose you'd... like to... uh... explain it... would you?"

"I don't think I can," she explained softly.

"Oh," Zack replied awkwardly. He couldn't meet her face to face--he wasn't sure if he was still totally covered in blood--so he settled for looking around to make sure they weren't being watched. Inter-House relationships were uncommon, but he was a different breed. Not just a Slimy, but an unloved Slimy. Untouchable. But now... he'd had intimate contact. What now? What comes next?

*She watched him look everywhere but at her face and sighed. She knew he wouldn't want to talk to her after that. She just knew it.*
"I guess I better go." She said sounding not entirely thrilled with the idea.

Zack gulped. He liked her, he'd admit it, but he couldn't just outright say that he didn't want her to go. He could hear the thoughts radiating from the Slimies pressed up against the compartment door. He'd hear no end of the madness. Then he wasn't sure what he'd be capable of.
Yeah, take all the credit, you ungrateful swine.
"I... I... Listen there's gotta be a better way to go about this."

*She released the air she hadn't realised she'd been holding.*
"There really does."
*Looking around she spotted an empty compartment down the hall.*
"Can...Can we go talk inside?"

Zack spared another glance for the compartment where Slimy shadows where framed in the frosted glass. Before he answered, he walked briskly to the door and smashed a fist through the glass, catching a Slytherin in the face with not only a fist, but a former window-ful of glass.
"Fuck off," he hissed, in a voice that was clearly not his own, but in the heat of the moment, nobody really could wrap their minds around it. So he left the green bastards and slung an arm around Viv as he led her into the empty compartment.

For some reason Vivian didn't find the smashing of glass and the slytherins face grotesque in anyway. As a matter of fact she was wondering why she hadn't thought of it first. So she was laughing as Zack led her to the empty compartment.
"I wish I could have seen their faces," She said still laughing just not as hard.

He grinned, well and truly for perhaps the first time in ages. He was being... what was the word?... extroverted. There was harmony on all fronts, his head and his social life coming together in an elegant zipper. And he'd gotten to get revenge on the bastard who'd told him to put gum in her hair. Let them push him around, why didn't they? He'd have a face and a plan for every occasion and they'd never catch him unawares again.
"So, I trust you had a good summer?"

"It was," she paused searching for a word to describe it, "adequate."
She wasn't about to tell him that all the older boys in the orphanage had decided they were gonna grope her everytime the got near her. Which in itself was odd she wasn't the prettiest girl there by far. And odder yet was the fact that this didn't start until after her birthday. She shuddered. She especially wasn't going to tell him about Jamie. The sick twisted f*** she hoped he'd burn in hell.

"Just adequate?" the smile wasn't evil or snakey, it was genuine. Rather surprising considering that he'd spent the past summer in something akin to a perpetual migraine undoing all the work psychologist had done to his brain. Somedays, it'd hurt to blink.
"Well... I guess it's better than nothing."
