She shuddered and took another couple steps away from the door. "I was so stupid." she muttered bitterly.

Zack mustered up all the courage he had, which wasn't much and knocked on the door. He could hear Sands' voice snarl profanity before the bouncing began again. He wanted to bound in to stop it before it got serious. He turned to Vivian.
"How could you not tell it was him?"

"I don't know." She chocked out sadly. Tears falling silently down her cheeks. She shivered, sinking to the floor.

He stood up and grasped the door handle. He heard his petname being used willy nilly by the bastard that'd taken over his body. His resolve was weakening. He couldn't do it. He knew he couldn't. Sands had beaten him in every way possible. He sat down on the floor again, staring blankly at the door.
(maybe viv should realize that roux's gonna come soon? and take them back?)

Vivian could hear distant footsteps coming down the corridor. She knew those footsteps and she knew what would happen if they were found out here. She crawled rapidly over to where Zack had sunk to the floor and flung the chain of the time turner around his neck. There was no more time to try and fix anything.
"We've got to go," she whispered frantically. She didn't wait for his reply as she began to madly turn the time turner in the opposite direction, not even sure if it was going to work correctly, thankfully the world around them started rushing by at nauseating speeds.

Zack didn't notice. It was a miracle his head didn't flop over and have the chain slip off his neck.

Once again they flopped back into the present. Not seeing themselves anywhere she assumed they were safe, for the moment anyways.

He couldn't say anything. He was still stunned. He'd failed again. His stomach was twisted into a horrible shape and he could barely breathe.

"Uh, yeah. Sure. I'm fine," he responded automatically without any real feeling. He inhaled sharply, and hoisted himself off the floor. "I'll be in my quarters."

She watched him leaving worriedly. There was something different about him. And it wasn't a good thing either. she sighed and pushed herself up off the ground and headed towards her quarters. She'd go find out what was wrong with him later.
